Does the bios in these laptops have the provision to Overclock the CPU or GPU ??? What is the Bios brand ??

The reason I ask is that I have a MSI GX600 that has a BIOS that has several options to overclock the CPU, GPU Memory, etc. If they are the same brand, maybe just maybe we can extract it from the MSI GX600 and use it on the Gateway ??? I have seen other people do it on desktops, why not laptops ?? What do you all think ?? God Bless :)

about the fastest your laptop will boot is about 1:30 to 1:45 seconds. (vista)

i recommend using hibernation. it's what i use.
20 to 40 seconds and your up and running.

only one problem...a laptop bios is locked, not like a desktop bios. and many manufactures dont want people like me in there making changes to their "already perfect product" (LOL) and you cant just flash any bios on a laptop either... you might make yourself one hell of an expensive paper weight. (well for some of us) others may have an in expensive one instead. LOL

lol i theres many programs out there that can unlock the bios. i know dell locks there bios.
well there is typically manufacturer bios. i think the most of the time there hosted on the companies website
you would have to find the model of the motherboard and then you would have to unlock the bios and then flash it

Actually the BIOS on the MSI GX600 allows you to over clock the CPU and other parts. MY CPU is stock T7300 @2.0Ghz and with all max settings of the BIOS it overclocks to a stable 2.6Ghz. I hope this helps. God Bless :)

i was a bit hasty in my post...

meaning laptop's like gateway/hp/fujitsu/toshiba and some dells.
locked bios meaning changing things like cpu clock speed and setting fsb speeds or memory speeds and timings. a sager will allow you to over clock all that as well.. ergo another reason why they cost more money. most mainline (best buy/circuit city/frys or or other retail store)laptops dont allow for such changes as you could void the warranty on your laptop.

you'll probally find more acer/msi/sager/alienware or clevo laptops that have unlocked bios's

when i posted i was under the impression you we're familiar with these types of branded laptops and their locked bios's.

    hope this clarifies things.
