    Gateway P-6860 FX 64-bit sound drivers

    I recently upgraded my notebook from Vista 64 bit to Windows 7 64 bit, and discovered that upon awakening from sleep mode my sound would not work. It turns out this is common for the FX line. I've tried upgrading my drivers, but after an exhaustive search I've been unable to find any, the ones on the gateway website are only for 32 bit vista, they dont have any for windows 7 or vista 64 bit at all.

    Does anyone know where I can find the drivers needed to fix this problem?

    Check the 78xx drivers. It should work hopefully. Check ur soundcard manufaturer and download the appropriate driver.

    the default 5939 drivers that you are talking about (for 32bit) work fine for 64bit... there are no other recent drivers that work completely and its not worth the trouble until someone figures out how to get a modified driver to work fully... just download the drivers you were talking about and all will be fine
