I recently purchased the mentioned laptop and I have begun to rip music onto my computer via Microsoft's Zune software. As I began to listen to my music I noticed a very annoying trait that every first song of a cd shared. At :53 seconds of the first track on all of my cds the disc skips. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this and if anyone has any solutions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S.: I am using my desktop to place the music on my zune and there are no skips at all.

i think there may be something wrong with the zune. have you tried using different software to transfer the songs?
-
I believe you are correct. It seems to be the zune software that is not working. I will use itunes and see if the skip still occurs.

I had the exact same problem and unfortunately I went through and replaced half my music library using this laptop so I could upgrade the quality because I had more space for storage iwith the 80GB zune and now all of those have the annoying skips.

I tried using wmp to rip the cds and i'm still noticing it on some of the songs. and the cds aren't scratched. I keep them in a protective case and they are clean. Any other suggestions? I've noticed this with the default factory install and i've recently done a clean install.

Is no one else still having this problem? If not what is the fix? OP?
-
No I have not fixed the problem. I think the laptop's weak point may be its cd/dvd drive. I have not found a solution as of yet. It is incredibly annoying. However, if you have a spare pc you can burn the music on that pc and then transfer it over to your new laptop using your zune to do the transfer. That way you still get all the music without the skips.

Unfortunately I just gave the desktop that I had built to my grandmother for her work. I miss that thing, 1.83 C2D 250GB HDD GeForce 7600 GTS I believe. Wasn't the best but I still miss it. It used to work so well for background noise when I was sleeping. It seems too quite at night now without it.

Is there not anyone else that has this problem, or a solution?

I tried to get her to take a game or two with it but she didn't want to.......something wrong with that, not taking a perfectly good game!
I bet if I searched her drawers I would find a gaming headset and a stash of games...<_< >_> -
One last bump has anyone else had this problem? or does anyone know of a solution?
