Looks like the P-171X FX edition, but one that will probably go retail at best buy?

Just happened to be poking around on Gateway's site and came across this one. It's already equipped with a T9300 (new as far as I can tell) and also 19x12 screen (not new but still nice). I'd also assume based on the model number it's going to come with x64 installed.

Why don't we get one at best buy over here. I was holding out to see if Best Buy got one with the better screen but now I don't know what to do! The cheapest large screen is 2k! I'd really like a midway model for Best Buy.

They carry Macs at my Best Buy so they definitely carry over 2k laptops. I'm just asking for another option with a better screen around the 1600-1800 dollar range I don't mind the processor since I can just update that myself but They should carry the lower end and a higher end model. On a side note they put the Gateway next to the Toshiba SLI and the Toshiba is absolutely huge next to the Gateway :)

Not only that, but even properly updated driver wise, the Gateway wins in gaming. :D Gotta love it!

The Gateway site has changed quite a bit (the US site). They don't appear to be offering The PFX series with an xtreem processor anymore. I wonder whit is up with that??

The best processor they sell now is the T8300 on their site.

Its sold out. The extreme version had an HD-DVD Drive so they're going to either have to update that or just phased it out. http://www.gateway.com/programs/pseries/index.php?page=specs there you can see all of them. Comparing the Gateway and the Toshiba is a no contest in size and performance and even look. THe Toshibas huge back make them look hideous.

The one question I have is are we getting a refresh soon? Is the J a hint at something to come for us. I'd like to hear no since I want the laptop now!
