There are primarily 2 BIOS versions that people use, with the main difference being the GPU fan control. 9C.17 keeps the GPU cool by cycling the fan on and off quickly (more of a pulsing sound) during idle. To me this was way too annoying. 9C.20 and 9C.23 on the other hand don't turn the GPU fan on at all until it hits 80C and then it turns off at 70C. I would not recommend 9C.20/9C.23 unless you have a laptop cooler to keep the idle temps down. Also others will find it unacceptable because during games for them it will hit 80, turning on the fan, then it will eventually fall below 70, turning the fan off, which causes it to warm up to 80... But for me, I'm using the stock thermal paste and for newer games it doesn't fall below 70. For older games I underclock the GPU.

i would go with 9c.17.00 because i believe lower temps is better. my gpu never reaches 80c with that bios. i also dont like the idea of my gpu temps constantly fluctuating 10c over and over.

so my opinion is to go with 9c.17 but if the noise really bothers you that much then by all means give 9c.20 a shot just keep in mind that your temps are going to be higher.

regardless of which bios you choose do get a laptop cooler as it will make a world of difference to your Hdd temps.

Using 9c.17 too. The MAX it has ever gone is 85C I think... right now I'm running practically nothing and it's 46C (a cheap Vantec cooler running). I haven't given 9c.20 a try though, simply because this one's working fine for me.
