At one time they sold the P-7805u for around $725 on TigerDirect. They had bumped up the price the last two months. I got one for $850-$127 (15% BING cashback) = $723. I think you can try BING cashback and get around 10% off now:

    1. Go to BING.com and search for "ram"
    2. Click on TigerDirect.com link on top with the cashback (10.3%)
    3. Search for "7805u" on TigerDirect.
    4. Should give you $849.99 - $87.55

Very good laptop, similar to my P-7811 FX.

Yes they do. My P-7811 and P-7805u both came with them (sticker on the bottom), the Windows Vista Home Premium keys. As for CD/recovery items, they do not come with them. Just laptop and charger. I personally don't use manufacturer's CD/recovery because they are crap. I have my own Windows disk, format it myself, and get drivers from Gateway's web site. :)

How long ago was the purchase? It usually takes up to 60 days to get the money back.

just got my refurb 7805-u today from tigerdirect. didn't know about bing so paid $850. no tax. looks like i got lucky and got one of the hi-def display. my max display resolution is 1920x1200 pixels. took a chance and it paid off!

anyway, this looks immaculate. currently creating recovery disks and will stress test this later on.
