Hey all,
Recently bought the P-7811 FX on Tuesday.. it has played all games fine until I tried to play World in Conflict tonight.
The first time the game ran, it was fine. I tried to change the in-game resolution.. and the result was a screen full of rainbows! Quit the game and restarted it.. rainbow effect again! Uninstalled and reinstalled.. same problem!
I've seen similar problems like this and it is almost always an issue with the video card driver.
I scoured the Gateway website for a driver update to the 9800 GTS and I can't find one.. anybody have a solution?

You could try nVidia's 177.92 drivers available here: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/
Can't promise a fix but they've been very stable on my 7811... -
Gateway has yet to post any 7811fx drivers up on their website, but definitely check out the link tallan gave you and be sure to download the modded inf, as well.

Running the driver version from that website with no problems either.

hi people first post. looking to upgrade to gateway from current comp. in sig. anyways.
I've always found Nvidia's official drivers to be the most stable. They hardly have any drivers for mobile cards. but what i do is just d-load the newest drivers. then go through the steps of cleaning out old drivers. While installing new drivers manually, when prompted for which card i have i just put in the desktop version. 6800 ultra in my case, instead of 6800 ultra go. i guess info. for the mobile cards isn't in the inf. file. Has worked fine for me past 4 years. i know it might be wrong, don't know why but... it works.
i had big trouble with drivers from other sites. stability issues. -
Those drivers ARE the nvidia official drivers. The only thing different is the INF.

yeah im still looking for the Physic pack for this notebook

Strange...when I try installing the driver, it says something about "The Nvidia Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will not exit" I'm running the P-7811

Make sure you download the modded inf along with the drivers
