I bought my P-7811FX Sep of 08. A few weeks ago it stopped working. After swapping the power supply and battery I decided to send it in. After receiving it back the repair report said the mobo died and was replaced. So I booted my Lap up and low and behold the guy who took my laptop apart forgot to hook my web cam back up! So now I'm left with two things, send it back or open it up myself and try to figure out what connects to what in order to fix this. Its a shame I can't get my money back, oh well.

Has any other owner of a P-7811FX had to send their Lap in for a mobo swap? Also has anyone ever had to reconnect their web cam?

Unless I'm sorely mistaken the web cam has to be part of the screen connector, there's one connector for the whole screen/lid area. It's pretty easy to get at though, you should be able to see it by removing the media buttons/power button bar. All you need to do is remove the two screws under the battery and gently pry up on the hinge covers with the screen open all the way. Unless they took the screen apart and left something up in there disconnected that connector being loose is the only way I could see that happening. Once you pop the media bar it'll be right above the F11 and F12 keys on the keyboard, big white connector, can't miss it. Just don't pull too hard on the media bar as it has a thin connector cable that needs unlatched. You can see some pics of what you'll be doing in my BT install tutorial, you won't need to do most of this other than what I typed out above to get to it, third picture shows it, it's the big connector on the right, the small socket thing is for the media bar's flat cable:
