Has anyone upgraded their CPU from the P8400 that came with the laptop before and what processor did they use and what improvement did they see? I currently bought one and like to upgrade if possible to T9600 or to one of the other CPU is this list:
Core 2 Duo T9300 2500 6144 1066 35
Core 2 Duo T9400 2533 6144 1066 35
Core 2 Duo T9550 2667 6144 1066 35
Core 2 Duo T9600 2800 6144 1066 35
Core 2 Duo T9800 2933 6144 1066 35
Core 2 Duo T9900 3066 6144 1066 35
Here the P8400:
Core 2 Duo P8400 2233 3072 1066 25 <<----------
Core 2 Duo P8600 2400 3072 1066 25
Core 2 Duo P8700 2533 3072 1066 25
Core 2 Duo P8800 2666 2072 1066 25
Heard and read quad core makes for cooking scramble eggs so not sure if I want to go that route....yet...

That would've been more relevant to my question at hand. -
The only issue with P78xx's is with too hot of a CPU the TSZx can falsely indicate 99c. If this is the case Throttle Stop undervolting the CPU can eliminate the issue. Your best bet for a CPU is either the T9xxx or P9xxx. If you want to go all out the x9100 is the fastest CPU but of course runs the hotest. Quad cores on the P78xx is a no go unless you already have a quad core vasrient such as the P7808u.
I should note the P7811 is the most affected varient of the P78xx's to the TSZx locking at 99c.................... -

I was thinking of going to a T9600 as it was alot cheaper then T9900....
-
Counting on your usage the T9600 is more than fast enough. Gaming limitations will be the GPU not the CPU 99.9% of the time.

You also could go with the P9xxx series as in;

Well the the CPU swap and my WEI went from 5.9 or 5.4 forgot to write down to 6.4 a modest rise but a rise never-less spent 40US for the cpu. Now next for Ram upgrade to 8gig. -
Yep, more money but another option. Figured I'd put it out there being as you had listed the T9800 and T9900 on your original list............

Shee, I paid $220 for the T9300 (new) as an easy drop in back in it's time. I only get buyer's remorse after I see the prices others paid 3 years later
I love upgrades but, IMHO, the prices of some of the FX upgrades is nuts for used and pulled parts on the net. I, sometimes, find the best prices here on our own market forum if you don't miss out... -

I just find Ebay and Paypal has buyer protection and customer solution service when that is called upon. That is the main reason I use it. And if something fails or doesn't work or the seller refuses to fix or take back Ebay and Paypal can give you help to recover your cost. I don't know of the market on here can do that to help if problem should arise. But I don't think the market on here is as big or have more diversity then Ebay does though. And someone will always have a part you can find and buy. On the market here that will be hard to replicate.

So what are some of the opinions of the readers whom have P-7811FX did you upgrade to a different CPU other then the factory P8400? Did anyone go to T9600 and what difference if any did they notice?
Updates anymore???
So does anyone like to give a honest advice if they had gone to a T9600 from P8400 cpu for upgrade? I think I go that route since the cost isn't too expensive but like a candidate opinion for any form whom has done this or a higher CPU that fits into the P-7811FX socket what they expected and what they got from the upgrade? -
What I have done so far is:
1) upgraded the ram to 8 gb (2@4gb)
2) running dual Western Digital Scorpio Black 7200rpm 320gb drives in Raid 0
3) replaced the factory P8400 with a T9400
Overall it has helped a lot. It is performing much quicker than it originally was. The last upgrade to the T9400 chip made a big difference. It seems to be on par with some of the newer latest gen laptops so I am pretty happy about that.
Oh yea, and I dumped Windows 8 and went back to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. -

If you can afford it go with a SSD for the primary drive. If not consider the Seagate 750 GB XT..............

Picked up my E0 T9600 for only $35 on Ebay not long ago. Going to wait a week (just finished a couple days ago) until I start bench marking it. Tan, do you have screenshots of your p79 conversion marks? I'd be interested in seeing those..
