Hi (a forum newbie here, so please be gentle)

My son imported a brilliant Gateway P-7915u FX Edition into the UK about 2 years ago and it has done him very well. Unfortunately the DC power Jack has now become so loose that he cannot charge it off the AC Adapter. I have tried to search for a replacement DC Jack on Google but can't find it anywhere. Could someone suggest a shop that may have the part and might send to the UK.

Does this Gateway require the jack to be soldered or can you buy a component to plug in (e.g. Jack + cable)

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Sean

Do you mean inside the computer not the jack on the power supply itself?

If it is the brick you can just get another. If it is the one inside the computer you will need to pull the daughter board and either solder in another ( or have it done at a local electronics shop. The other option is to get a new daughter board...........
