    notebook given to me.
    Wont boot to bios
changed ram, still no boot to bios
no hard drive in the unit, battery seems to hold a charge but i am also using a universal power adapter
i have reset the motherboard by removing all power to unit and holding down power button.
I also removed the coin battery for a minute.

The blue led on the power button lights up and i can hear a whir for a bit then it shuts down before anything comes up on the screen.

Appreciate any help i can get.
    Thank You

"notebook given to me" Maybe that was the reason it was given to you. :) I would try installing a hard drive and see if you can install OS. Maybe bios is looking for hard drive and seeing none shuts down.

Fact there is no hard drive has nothing to do with it as far as i know? The power only lasts about 2 seconds, not enuf time to boot to anything and laptops will boot to bios with no hard drive in it.

And i dont think the laptop will shut right off just because there is no hard drive in it, but thanks anyway?

Right now i am working on the suggestions posted below, will report back. thank you
