Hello, I recently downgraded my 6860 to windows XP Home 32-bit due to limitations on vista. I have been having an easy time so far getting everything to work and for awhile I figured I was in the clear, sadly that isn't the case. I noticed that there is no longer any HDMI audio out in my sound devices. Does anyone know what I need to do to restore HDMI audio out?

    Thanks for the help.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

    In system properties it says:

    Microsoft Windows XP
    Home Edition
    Version 2002
    Service Pack 2

If you need any more information to help me solve this issue then please don't hesitate to ask.

I have XP installed on my P6860-FX, but I don't use the HDMI port. AFAIK, none of the people who've had this issue have reported back on the progress they made. My guess is that they found the answer already posted there, or found someone in that thread who helped them fix the problem.

I followed the installation of the IDT/SigmaTel drivers and I still didnt have HDMI Audio out. I then proceeded to do the stuff RhinoXeros said would help with HDMI and my internal mic audio. In the end it only fixed my internal mic and I can hit FN+F4 to activate HDMI out. Still no audio over HDMI tho. If someone knows what I need to do to get audio over HDMI back please let me know. Thank you

Well, Guest_Billy Ruben_* in the laptopvideo2go forums modded some newer IDT audio drivers for Vista and Win 7 and has HDMI audio working on the P-6860FX. You might try sending him an e-mail asking him if he could tell you how to do it for XP, or look at what he did and try to figure out how to mod the XP driver yourself:

If you get it working, let us know plz.
