I'm just wondering how much of a difference I'm going to see between a T8300 and a T9300 processor, as I can save around $100 by going with the T8300. However, if I'm going to see a big difference with the T9300 I'll willing pay the extra. Also I was wondering what I could add to the interior of my laptop for cooling, and whether there is a guide around here for installing it.
Thanks

Take a look at this thread
It is for lowering the voltage, a link to the main thread showing the how to's is in that post. Lowering the voltage will bring down the temperature.
I just bought a t9300, I too was choosing between that and the t8300. After researching which to buy I decided on the extra 6mb cache and 100Mhz as I do a lot of data searching/spreadsheet work and the cache helps there. If you have the extra $100 then I would say go with the t9300.
Search the forum, there have been many posts on which processor to get for our laptop. -
There wont be a significant difference between the two for general use, gaming etc. Extended file en\decryption, archiving, de\compression would benefit from a larger cache.

The most demanding thing I'll be doing on this laptop is gaming, so I don't see a need to improve past the T8300. I'm undervolting as we speak, seems to have already lowered temps by 10C

t9300 is best
-
t9300 is cooler than t8300, spends less power, faster at most of cases etc
so i would go for t9300 -
the T8300 is the best bang for the buck, even if it only has half the L2 cache of the T9300. -
just to add
vid voltage range :
t8300 1.00V-1.250V
t9300 1.062V-1.150V
if anyone wants to translate this to extra heat -

well not everyone lives in an ice container, i dont see how core temps can be lower than room temp unless you use water cooling,
on this note, if you use water cooling please write us a guide
btw as can see from your picture speedfan is useless -
lol...unfortunately no water cooling for me. probably not for the next 2 years at least because thats how long i plan on NOT buying a desktop because of my job. although....it would be really sweet to see someone water-cool a laptop.
and for that screenshot, the core temps were actually above room temp.
