    Looks like Gateway finally released the QuadCore FX laptop.

    Looks just like a 7801u/7805 but with Quadcore support.
    There must be a BIOS for us 7811/01/05 users to enable this quadcore support..

    There are members in this forum trying to get the quadcore support bios for the P-7811/01/05 laptops. Check the BIOS thread.

    What would you gain by having quad say over the high end dual? I think q9000 is 2ghz and even p8400 is higher.

    not much since not many programs are optimized for quad core, therefore a higher clocked dual core would be better unless the program is optimized for quad.
