I think they are built okay I would say 8 out of 10. Also I bought mine with bestbuy warranty so not sure with gatewy support.

Their build quality is alright. I wouldn't a little more on the design; before I had my 7805u, I had HP's and Sony's. I also have the Bestbuy warranty.

Average build quality. I don't have experience with their support but I've heard it's not too great.

I wish their design for the FX machines were different, I think some ASUS "look" better but for what you get on the inside its so worth it.

I would rate the P series as 6/10. They are still a good value when you consider what you get for the price.

Customer service is always bad and I never use them since you can find all the answers online through google or this forum. Build quality wise, most review sites such as cnet.com, wired.com and maximumpc.com gave the P series a 8/10.

Build quality is decent, maybe not as high as some other more expensive machines, but I'm quite satisfied. (btw... p-7801u FX)

As far as support goes... I've heard some people rant & complain about Gateway support. However, my experience was actually quite good. I had a problem with a twitchy touchpad. I called and explained it to the rep and they asked me to try couple of things that I had already tried before calling them. I explained that to the rep. and they didn't treat me like an idiot and force me to jump through the same hoops again, but simply accepted that I had done the basics. The rep then said I could send it in and they would fix it. I explained that I couldn't be without it because I use it for busines. So the rep offered to send me the parts so that I could install them myself. That was exactly the solution I was hoping for before I called, but didn't think I would ever get them to agree to.

So I think their support was pretty good.

You won't believe how I wish that could happen to me. Everytime they want me to send the notebook back.
