I've had a very annoying problem with my laptop, an Gateway m 1625, having issues with the SigmaTel sound card and webcam and I'm at the brink point and thinking about Recovering the system.
When I initiate the Gateway System Recovery does it erase all my installed programs such as Office and Anti-Viruses?
Also will it back up only files in certain folders or all my files?

    Thanks...

P.S. If you've encountered this issue before and are familiar with a method by which I might be able to fix it without going thru' recovery please let me know.
I had posted the problem at

Please dont bump more than once every 24 hours

As to your question, yes the recovery will wipe all of your data. It returns you computer to the "like new" settings
