NO!
I am NOT going to buy the CD's from Gateway even though I already technically ordered them but somehow gateway seems to have just lost my order...
Gateway seriously needs to start shipping every laptop with DVD's (Im pretty sure they do now) instead of having to make us use their recovery center thing to create them and step into a heap of steaming feces.
So attached is my problem... I cannot get to the Gateway Recovery Center installer... anybody have any ideas, suggestions or questions?

You could try the following:
dir gateway*.msi /s /h
Which will also search for HIDDEN files. Hope this helps. God Bless -
C:\Users\Philip>e:
E:\>cd i386
E:\i386>dir gateway*.msi /s /h
Invalid switch - "h".
E:\i386>

I believe that should be:
dir gateway*.msi /s -h
if memory serves. -
Could anyone PLEASE extract the installer and link it to me? PLEASE (+REP)Attached Files:

You did not format or re-partition your hard drive did you ?? If not, then it *should* still be there. Maybe just maybe it does not start with the name Gateway so try this search instead:
dir *.msi /s
This should bring up all the MSI's. Hopefully one of them will be what you are looking for. Hope this helps. God Bless -

@Beatsiz:
Sorry I've no clue how to fix your problem since I've never seen or encountered it.
Just wanted to let you know your not being ignored and that people probably are the same way as me.
Hope you get it fixed -
Hopefully someone comes along and figures it out
But if ANYBODY has a P-6831FX could they PLEASE link/send the Gateway Recovery Center installer?!
Thank you very much,
Philip Han -
Hi Beatsiz,
if you want reinstall Gateway Recovery Center you should install it manually.
there is no installer available, as i know. try this
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=257866
you can try F8 while booting, to get to rc -
I have a new harddrive and have deleted that partition LONG time ago
So technically when im asking for the installer... it is installing manually hahaha -
just have the m6850fx, different drivers.
guys, if you've got p6831fx, make the image and help the man, please. -
IT DOESNT MATTER!!!
Its the GATEWAY RECOVERY CENTER installer that I need!
Even though I have it now thanks to Jeep77, I still hope I could get another installer
Its just that it says "eRecovery cannot be installed -1.Bootable File" -
I have the same problem and was wondering if anyone had the installer too...also if you don't mind can you send the installer that jeep77 gave you? I don't have the partition since something unfortunate happened to my original hard drive.
