    Hi All

I'm trying to back up my drivers on a blank rewritable CD/DVD but I keep getting a message that says "Invalid Media" from Gateway Recovery Center. I've formatted both the CD and the DVD and re-inserted them, but keep getting the same message. Any ideas?

Try a different brand, I learned that my Gateway FX can't read certain Memorex CD's

You formated them? I use only verbatim disk bought at Sam's or other. Very rare to have problems with them.

I'll try the non-rewritable ones and post back. Have never had issues with them on any other drive, though.

I encountered the same problem when attemting to create a Recovery DVD using Gateway Recovery Center and Memorex DVD+RW discs that I formatted using Windows Vista. I tried several format options, but got the same "Invalid Media" message.

    hmmm

i did a full system restore since then, so its all look shiny right now
i can try again if you want.

and if you use the iso way and put it on the recovery "d" partition, be careful as it will be erased on full system restore. so do back it up on external media.
