Hi guys i tried controlling my fan in my notebook since it runs so hot up here in the summer

i tried speed fan and it doesn't find the fan! :(

are there any good notebook speedfan type apps that can control the fan?

or similar a way to find out the fans port or something and exit the speedfan app?

let me know if you have any suggestions thanks

You cannot control the notebook's fan at a program level. The fan algorithm is hard-coded into the BIOS.
    (SpeedFan is mainly for desktops)

    I never understood that.
Why DONT people shutdown their notebooks at night?
I mean, if your downloading something, or some important program is running, i.e. memory tests, or virus scan, I understand. Otherwise...what is wrong with people?

not sure i find it convenient of it being ready when i want to go on it but i'm going to start shutting it down, for a month here i was treating it as a desktop, but if it can't run cool thats no good

i really don't have a good reason for leaving it on either, besides seeing if i have new email as soon as it turns on. and logging on irc :p
