Hi guys i tried controlling my fan in my notebook since it runs so hot up here in the summer
i tried speed fan and it doesn't find the fan!![]()
are there any good notebook speedfan type apps that can control the fan?
or similar a way to find out the fans port or something and exit the speedfan app?
let me know if you have any suggestions thanks

You cannot control the notebook's fan at a program level. The fan algorithm is hard-coded into the BIOS.
(SpeedFan is mainly for desktops) -
dudes that a major bummer, so ill check the bios for hope in some sort of fan controlling

the bios on the gateways will allow nothing of that sort, get an air conditioner

Why DONT people shutdown their notebooks at night?
I mean, if your downloading something, or some important program is running, i.e. memory tests, or virus scan, I understand. Otherwise...what is wrong with people? -
not sure i find it convenient of it being ready when i want to go on it but i'm going to start shutting it down, for a month here i was treating it as a desktop, but if it can't run cool thats no good
i really don't have a good reason for leaving it on either, besides seeing if i have new email as soon as it turns on. and logging on irc
