    Question...

The maximum resolution is 1280 x 800. I use the HDMI connection for my TV. Is the resolution limited by software or hardware? I would love to have my TV set to a higher resolution, but realize the laptop LCD can only do so much. Is there a program i can download which would allow me to output a different resolution to my TV, or do i need to purchase a seperate video card?

    Thanks!!

Is your TV 720, 1080? Give us make and model of TV. What type of connection are you using between the two? Is your video card driver up to date? Is your chipset driver up to date?

    The TV is a Samsung 56" HL-S5687W. 1080p.

I am using the HDMI connection.

All computers device drivers are up to date. The newest version of IntelĀ® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver is installed. Although i do think they could do a better job with that.
