Gateway T-Series go down in history as having the WORST speakers in the history of laptops! T-6815 T-1616 T-1620 ect...

The gateway T-Series including ALL Intel based T-68xx models and ALL AMD based T-16xx models take the crown of having the WORST speakers in laptop history.

The speaker quality is so laughably HORRID the you cant even listen to music.

Just to give an example they sound EXACTLY like a cheap pair of headphone sitting on a desk with the volume turned all the way up and this is NOT an exaggeration.

I tried to watch a movie the other day and couldnt due to the speakers. The speakers could NOT reproduce sound correctly in many situation for you to be be able to understand what is going on. There are NO mid to low frequency and all you can hear out of them is raspy treble.

It is SHOCKING that any Mfr can accept such poor quality and ALLOW this to be produced and sold to the public.

THE GATEWAY T-SERIES HAVE THE WEAKEST EVER SPEAKERS I HAVE EVER RAN INTO. EVEN 5 YEAR OLD LAPTOPS PERHAPS EVEN OLDER HAVE BETTER SPEAKERS.

You are right, it sounds like headphones that are turned up too high. That is the perfect way to describe them.

Even tweaking with the EQ and sound enhancements DO NOT help.

Don't try to show off the laptop's sound because people WILL LAUGH.

THEY ARE A POS!

If this laptop did not have HDMI and spdif output I would definitely might have looked elsewhere. Especially if you plan to do ANYTHING that requires the use of the speakers and not using headphones.

Props to gateway for having the most affordable 14.1 with HDMI and optical out and feature packed specs, but I would have gladly paid $10 more for better speakers.
