Hello all, I'm trying to upgrade my Gateway NV55S09h Laptop to a different CPU, and i cant find any specifications for the CPU or the motherboard so i can find a new one that fits my laptop. I want to go from an A6-3420M at 1.5Ghz to A6-5357M at 2.9Ghz (both are AMD) and I do not know whether the new one would work with my laptop(its less that a year old). Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you taken it apart yet? If not you might have to and tell us what socket module it has that will tell so we can look to see what CPU that can take. But if I remember right one of my HP had a T6500 processors as yours and I made a upgrade to Intel T8100 but if the socket holds true you can go to a T9300 if you pay more but don't get the T8300 and T9500 those small .2 Mhz won't benefit you except deplete your wallet instead. This is for intel based Gateway not sure on AMD based processors as those are not the best for upgrading IMO.

Having inspected my motherboard revealed that it was LA -6973P. I am currently researching what CPUs will fit it. Any advice is also appreciated.
