A friend of mine just bought a 172x fx .But, didn't know there are extra discount codes that Gateway uses so you can use to lower the cost even more. So, I thought i'd post the one site I mostly use. It has always list the newest codes.

Now, I know alot of people know about these. But, this is for the ones who don't. Remember, DON'T kill the messenger.![]()

best way to get discounts is to haggle with the sales rep

nice find.
so the 15.4 and 9600 gs card interest you huh... -
9600 gs is a watered down version like the 8600 gs was
-
lol -
nah not really...i already ordered a gateway m-152xl to fit my needs, its only two days away(#$%^$%^$%^ 3-5 day ground always turns into a week...). i just thought the asus was an interesting find.
-
wooooo, what a relief
lol -
=) is that asus i linked supposed to be bad? i never looked into any of the 9500 cards...just decided to stick with the 8600 or a ati equal.
-
it has 32 SP's while the 8800m gts has 64 sp's the 8600m gs only had 16 sp's
sp=stream processors
and it only has a 128 bit bus while the 8800m gts have a 256 bit bus
rule of thumb seems to be...256gddr3 per 128 bit bus or 512gddr3 per 256 bit bus. so im told. seems fair to me so i go with it.
