hello everyone! right now me and a friend are trying to decide between this and a standard Vaio SB priced at $899. the laptop is going to be used for university.
which one should we grab? the gateway has better gpu and is $200 cheaper; the sony is more portable

how is gateway's build quality? this thing has to last 3 years or so

Are you just using this for School or are you going to be playing games too? Because if its just school there is cheaper.

I was happy about my gateway (Look in signature for computer details) and it was the first time I had ever bought one. As for the 3 year mark that is what I would say Gateway is. My Gateway just died , and its about 3 years and 4 months old.

Yeah, for school if you aren't going to be "hardcore" gaming just go for the smallest and lightest possible. You will be much better off trust me hahaha.

Small gaming laptop you can go for the Alienware M11x, you can get an r1 for pretty cheap, just keep your expectations humble and you should be pleased.

Other than gaming though, thin and light is your best bet, also around a 13 inch screen.
