I know many if not most of you guys here have the best buy retail version of gateway's p series laptops. I know a few of us did go through gateway for ours. Any ideas on what this is going to do to customer support or warranty issues?

Shouldn't be a factor as P6860/31 users can call up Gateway for assistance just as easily.

shouldn't be a factor as gateway tech support offered zero assistance anyway.

Well that is mostly true, once they helped me, once they were stupid! What about warranty though, I guess I will just email customer service, while they still have it!

Well, as far as I can tell, they're still covering warranty, they're just no longer selling the laptops directly.

This would mean that they could cut costs by dropping their sales staff.

ah the evils of capitalism... its kinda creepy though that the new line up should cost 2K or better but they are selling it for 1500ish... wonder if this actually had anything to do with it.
