I've installed a new battery on a gateway NV58, the laptop appears to work well with the new battery, but it does't recognize the battery "no battery installed",
can't tell how time left on the battery, or when the charge is complete.
Any recomendations as what to do is appreciated.

I did a forum search for battery issues, and frankly it's not that common
If your old battery was recognized ,that rules out windows issues and my suggestion is to either exchange that battery or replace with original

I always replace with original battery's , I will even take a chance on a used tested battery rather than a genaric type
