just a warning about microsoft security essentials updates, it locks up my 7901 and is not repairable nor restore able. The only effective repair, is a clean os install. This has locked up my laptop twice, this time before installing, I used acronis to clone, so when it happened again, I re-cloned back.
It had run just fine, until the latest program update, and it downloads automatically when first running. Did the same on my 7805.

Using official version of Windows with legal serial key might solve this problem.

Are you running any other virus detection software other than microsoft security essentials? If yes, then disable the other virus detection program(s) and see if that helps.
