    Hi,
I've had the laptop for awhile and the lcd screen started to "shake" as in if i touched or moved the screen it would go all different colors, mainly red and yellow. Anyways while on a forum to open the screen i took off the plastic cover and began inspecting it. My screwdriver then touched the metal foil type stuff on the back and my laptop turned off and cant get it to go back on. does anyone have ANY ideas?
    thanks,
    Brandon

You might have shorted something out. First Try to find your LCD cable and reseat it (remove it from its connector and then put it back making sure you have a good connection)

Then try to remove your CMOS battery (hopefully you have already removed the power cord and laptop main battery) after that push the power button for 3 seconds to bleed out any residual power... this is more of a superstition step, but i always do it anyway.

After about 1 minute replace your CMOS battery and then put the battery/powercord back in your laptop and see if it will power up then.

didnt work unfortunately but thanks. i do think something was shorted though. Plugging in the battery or powercord did make the battery light go on for a second.
