I have a P173x fx (the same as all the fx series) that I wanted to upgrade the lid to. I wanted the 79xx series look. I bought a mint condition lid from eBay. I am now in the middle of disassembly when I realized that both lids have two wires that are actually connected to the lid. I am not sure if they are some type of antenna. They run all the way onto the of the side of the motherboard from the looks. Is it possible to cut an splice these wires. I am at my wits end. I thought thatbthis was going to be super simple. I am waiting on anyone that can help.

Just figured it out. They were only taped on the lid so I could use the original contact point.
