Hello I am using a p7805u with the 9800M GTS running video drivers 186.39. These drivers are great for games, I get fps boosts on most games but errors in one game, Wc3 the frozen throne. Artifacts show up on my regular desktop screen once in a while, the screen freezes for a couple of seconds then goes black and then comes back saying the display driver had crashed and has recovered. Also when playing Warcraft 3 the Frozen throne (and Wc3 only, all other games work perfectly) I get the same problem once in a while. Can anyone help me fix this without changing my current driver version back to 182.50 (which apparently had none of these problems.

What operating system are you using and are you fully updated? What screen resolution do you use? Have you tried different screen resolution. Are all your drivers up to date also like chip-set? Try propping the back up and letting the system breathe just during that game.

I actually found a fix for this problem, and I will post the fix for anyone else having this problem and rummaging through google for an answer ;)

    1) Google "Nhancer" and download the latest version.
Run Nhancer and go under the Warcraft 3 game profile (or similar older game giving graphical problems).

    2) Now go under the Optimizations tab and click on "Force DXT3" and select "On".

    3) Now go under the compatability Tab and in the Sub-Tab called OpenGL.

    4) Under Conformant Texture Clamp make sure it is set to hardware, under OpenGL control click on Multithreading "on.

    5) Under OpenGL Multi Display Mode click on "optimize for single display modes"

And that did it for me. No more graphical glitches and no crashes of the display driver. Hope that helps anyone having the same problem.
    With <3,

Just wanted to update, after almost a month I still haven't gotten another crash, so I suppose my posting this is virtually a fix.
