    Hi guys,

Sorry to keep bringing up the repair issue; I have one more question. I've read through various posts about Gateway sending components to people rather than having them send their laptops in. How was this type of thing arranged, and is it likely that they would do that for something as pricey and fragile as an LCD?

    Thanks,

    Dan

Simple stuff like harddrives they would.

Replacing the LCD is somewhat major surgery and they wouldn't want anyone doing that on their own.

Most of the time, they will charge your credit card and refund the money when they get the defective part back.

i'm assuming you'd have to send them the defective part, otherwise people could just call up and get free parts.
