    Gateway sound problem

    last year I bought a gateway MX 3560 its was working okay but after I formated the hard drive and installing XP professionell I run in trouble I was not able to fix the problem with the multimedia audio controller all suggestions from gateway support didn't help, each time I try to install the conexantAC link audio driver from gateway I got the error message " failed. I try also to install the realtek AC 97 audio diver but when I do this XP crashes with the blue screen.
    I anybody know how I can fix this problem please help me .

    I reformatted my mx 3558 and had the same issue. (same machine but the mx3560 has a bigger HD) I tried the sound drivers from the gateway site but they wouldn't install. I had made a drivers and apps disk before reformatting and those drivers installed no problems.
