I can not find on the Gateway.com web site any support forums for Gateway owners to exchange messages about questions and problems with each other.
I asked a Sales rep and he hung up on me.
I am reaseaching Gateway Laptops (before i purchase) and want to review reported problems by users before I purchase one.
I did the same for Dell durring my analysis for purchase and did find support forums that anyone can review to see what kind of problems people are having. The Dell forurm was very helpfull in my analysis and I did NOT purchase the Dell 6000
But I can not find the same type of support forums on the Gateway site.
Does anyone know how to access these Gateway user support forums on the Gateway site?
Thanks
John

Well, Dell shut down most of those forums recently because they became problematic, I don't blame Gateway for not offering them, no one else does. As for problems, all you need to do is search for the model you're interested in and see what people are saying or post with specific questions. Personally, I like what Gateway is doing right now, for the most part.

Dell Onlline support forums exist and are open. I have been monitoring them occasionally and that is how I determined NOT to buy the Dell Inspiron 6000
What do you mean by "you like what Gateway is doing now" What are they doing that is so great?
I do not get a great feeling for a company like Gateway that does not have any support forums or does not open them up to the public
Thanks

Dell did in fact shut down several forums because of abuse issues.
As for Gateway, just because they don't have forums doesn't mean they're bad. You'd have to lump just about everyone but Dell into that same group.
Their M460 is quite nice for the cost, so is the 680.
Gateway support forum?
