Hi,
This quesiton can probably apply to really any gateway laptop w/HDMI out but I have the t-1616. Well when hooking up the laptop to one of my HDTVs , it transmits the picture just fine. But how in the world do I get it to pass sound through the TV speakers as well? I went to my "sound devices" or whatever that 1 option was called and it brought up a list of all my speakers (my USB powered logitch external speakers, the internal notebook speakers, and it even showed 'HDMI speakers' or something to that effect)
Well at this time I didn't have the USB speakers plugged in, so audio had been coming out of the laptop speakers themselves. After fiddling with the options and resetting the laptop several times though, i couldn't get the sound to come out of the TV rather then through the laptop speakers themselves. I tried changing "defaults" and everything. How do you do this?! Any help is appreciated cuz I wanna stream netflix rentals to my big HDTV lol

Any advice? I was thinking should i set the default speaks to HDMI, and then turn off the tv and laptop, then start them both back up from scratch? I just wanna not have to listen to the tinny speakers when streaming through my TV. Thanks!
