Hi fellas! I just want to ask if I purchased a laptop from Bestbuy, I do get a 1 year warranty on it right? It's a Gateway laptop. What do I have to do to be eligible for the warranty? Do I have to do a product registration? Sorry.. I'm new to this whole warranty thing because I didn't have this thing back in the country I came from lol.

Its a 1 year warranty. Not sure if you really have to register for the warranty thing to work. Even if you didn't i believe it should work by contacting the customer support if ever any issues arise. Registering is more or less for them (ACER) to mail you for accessories deals and requesting for warranty extensions when its almost a year old.

Yeah, you get a year of "something", but from what ALOT of people have experienced, it sure as h3ll isn't support. If you bought it from BB, I suggest getting their extended accidental drop warranty(or whatever). Studies have indicated that if something is to go wrong with laptops and computers, its usually within the first year of ownership.
So if you only have Gateway support, good luck. If you have the BB accidental warranty then you can exchange it for a new one within that time frame of the warranty. Check with the folks at BB on this.
Also if you buy with AMEX, that is another layer of protection because that doubles the length of the manufacturers warranty and you can bring it back to store within 90 days of purchase date.

    Also, go here: http://support.gateway.com/register/
    to register your lappy.
    Good luck.
