I've got a Gateway laptop and it keeps throwing up a "YOUR HARD DRIVE WILL FAIL!" advertisement for its online backup service every other day or so. I was hoping that since it was promoted as a "Special Limited Offer" that it might stop showing up after a while, but it's been four months and the darn thing keeps showing up.

Anyone know of a way to get rid of this annoying ad?

go to 'add or remove programs', google the entries, uninstall unwanted programs.
