I logged onto one of Gateway's sales chats to talk to a sales rep by the name of Courtney...she was, by far, one of THE meanest people I have chatted with online, period. She would ask me a question, and 2 seconds later, type "????". At one point she said I "type too slow...pick up the pace".

And if that wasn't bad enough, I asked her a question about the difference in price between a 4200rpm and 5200rpm hard drive (as an upgrade)...she responded in caps "ARE THESE THE TYPES OF QUESTIONS YOU LOGGED ON TO ASK ME??".

Needless to say I couldn't take anymore of it...and logged off.

Haha. I had "Courtney" as a rep once too. I saved the log, so I am sure that it was her.
I asked a couple questions about the M450. One of which was about the ODM purchased from. Her reply to the ODM question:
"i'm not sure i didnt make the product"
    Then, shortly following:
"not to sound rude by any means ; ) its a good question i just dont a good answer for you"

When it came time to rate my adviser, I didn't give a bad rating, for I knew that the question was likely not to be answered. Plus she apologized about it before I left the session.
All of my other chat and email experiences were VERY quick and descriptive. All Gateway emails are received within an hour, which I think is superb.
Hopefully, Gateway soon realizes that Courtney is a bad adviser, and she gets the boot :)

Courtney sounds more like a 16 year on girl talking in an IM than to someone in a sales chat. xD

    Hey uscooper,

Do sales personnel at Best Buy work on commision? Just curious because if someone goes out of their way to help me and I know they're commissioned I make sure they get my business instead of someone who has treated me poorly.

    Regards,
    Fleet

Na we arent commissioned, but we do appreciate it when customers come back to us since we prob spent a good deal of time with you. Managers do also notice what you sell. That said, if you dont have to have it at an exact time and its not like a get it now or sales off kinda saturday night thing, Come back to the guy u talked to
