I've been experiencing slightly higher GPU temperatures lately and after cleaning the fan properly I can see that it's a problem that does not have to do with dust. I can hear the fan running when I am gaming but I am not sure that it is running @ 100%. Any other users here use or know of a program that will work on the p7805u to lock the fan @ 100% (if it's not already) while gaming? I don't really care about noise, I just want to make sure my gpu is properly ventilated.

I can see on your sig that you have undervolted the GPU. that's why the fans are not running at higher speeds.

it should be all good. but if you experience higher temps then that's right, something is wrong.

I suggest you try a different undevolt value. why don't you try to round it up to 1.0V

when I was undervolting my old 7805u some values would work and some others wouldn't. for me it worked nice 0.9V

the fans never kicked in, only afer hours of intense GPU load. and I remember being concerned about this same issue, so I would often run HWMonitor while the GPU was under stress and never saw it overheating. the fans don't spin any faster simply becasue it does not represent an issue for the temps sensors.

do you have a cooling pad underneath it?

Undervolting definitely changes the speed at which the fan rotates. I'm not sure if it does it directly(UV) or using the temp sensors. Coz with the stock voltages the speed of the fan was more when the GPU hit 50DegC than with UV at 50DegC. For me with undervolting it seems like lower speed and longer spinning time. Like OneJ said try increasing the voltage and try to see if it gets faster.

I will try changing the voltage to 1.0 or even back to the stock 1.12 and post any results in possible temp loss. And no, I do not have any cooling pads underneath.

I tried both and the temps seem to keep reaching the same high levels when playing high end games like MW2 and Crysis. When playing games like Warcraft 3 temps usually stay within 60 - 65 degrees, instead of 80-90 when playing MW 2 for a while.

You know, I noticed that a LOT more heat comes out from the top left side of the Laptop facing me than from the top right side. There are fans in both areas but the one on the top right feels much cooler than the hot air coming out of the fan on the top left side. I always thought the GPU was on the top right side next to the CPU and Chipset but I might be wrong? Otherwise why would the top left side of the laptop be getting so hot? That is the side I can't open without taking the laptop apart.

the GPU is on the left side when you are facing the screen.

I just reinstalled my 9c.17 bios and noticed that while the Bios was getting re-flashed the Fan actually kicked in 100%, now I know for sure that while I am gaming the Fan is holding back. Maybe I should try reverting to another bios version?
