I recently spent a load of cash on a Dell Precision M6300 for professional audio use, only to find that it suffers from apparently incurable spikes in DPC latency which make it unsuitable for my needs. I'm now faced with the prospect of having to get *another* machine to replace it.

A lot of audio PC builders seem to use Clevo machines, however these are expensive and I don't think that I can afford to get one of these having bought the Dell.

I notice however that the Gateway P6831 is a Clevo base, and seems to be rather cheap in the US. I am thinking that one of these with a faster CPU would suit my needs, however I cannot find anyone selling them in the UK.

Can anyone point me towards somewhere selling them?

    Much appreciated

6831 is a clevo? never knew that.

6831/6860 are retail models...so unless there is a best buy near you that sells it, sorry =(

If you are able to spend a bit over 2k (US) there is a guy that sells upgraded P-6860's on Ebay. You may be able to look into that.

Ebay is pretty much your only option. Either that or getting a used one from someone who imported a 6831 or 6860FX to the UK.

Also, pretty sure it's not a Clevo. Not sure who's the ODM for the Gateway, but Clevo doesn't sound right.

Perhaps heading to the WNSIB forum with your needs would be a better idea.

OK I was wrong...it looked to me like a R570RU-U chassis but perhaps it was just the orange stripe that had me fooled!

Still it seems like an attractive option if I can't find a Celevo for a cheap enough price
