I'm buying a new Samsung SSD drive 64 gb and want to transfer my current win7 OS and configurations onto the new hard drive.

Can someone provide a step by step procedure guide on what I would have to do when I get my new drive in the mail to when I actually boot it up in the system and transfer the OS into it?

Using EASEUS Todo Backup, you could backup or clone your hard drive, then trim down either the original or the clone so that it can fit onto the SSD, and then use the program to clone it onto the SSD. Cloning your hard drive would save you the step of having to restore the backup using the other method, but I'm pretty sure you need a free partition in order to do a clone. Todo Backup won't let you edit the backup file at all, so be aware of that.

I know this isn't the simple solution you were looking for but it will work!

acronis true image is a pretty user-friendly piece of software and provides a step-by-step wizard on how to drive clone. I've personally never had any issues with it.

Is the current primary drive usage under 64GB?
