I really should know how to do this by now, but I've been putting off figuring it out. I have an annoying little icon called initdebug on my desktop that appeared when I uninstalled something. But it's not actually there, so I can't remove it. It gives that. "This file is no longer located in blah/C/blah/Desktop." error. If it's not there, why the hell do I see the icon? And how do I get rid of it?

Went to the control panel and enabled "Show hidden Folders" which is where it says that icon was located (its somewhere like, C:/Public/Public desktop, right?)
Well Public Desktop is a hidden folder, so enable "Show hidden folders" and than go to where it says that Icon is no longer located.
When I went to where it said the Icon was located, the icon disappeared off of my desktop.
See if it works for you as well? -

Right click the desktop and click refresh

or you can try going to My Documents, click your account name up top and then click on the Desktop directory and try deleting it, it sometimes will work but if not i usually just restart and i can delete whatever it was.

AGlobal, your method worked, and it seems to be easiest. Thanks.
