so.. i bought a new one of these on 1/4.. had the laptop for a week, and i ended up getting a White Screen of DEATH... lucky for me, i was under the 14 day guarantee from bestbuy, so i just too the thing back and exchanged it for a new one..

the problem is, the one i got only has resolution to 1440x900.. not the 1900 that the origional one had.... am in the process of DLing new drivers, and i hope that will work...

    be careful guys...

Take it back to best buy and have the geek squad replace your new screen with the one from your old notebook.

When they see there's a difference they cant really argue about it as you want the 1920x1200 screen

I have had my 7805U since 12/24 and it hasn't given me any sort of trouble (knocks on wood) . Any idea why your old one white screened?

Check the display model too, if its a 1920x1200 you could trade for it, or add it to your case of "i bought it based on seeing this, and the first one was, but now ive got this". Or if they still have the old one tell em to pop it open and reseat the lcd connector as that's likely the issue.

I heard white screen is a loose monitor cable, not sure though.

99.99 percent chance its 1440x900, highest batches that were 1920x1200 reported were in the I007000 range

I believe that the batch number he gave was the one from his replacement laptop (the one that's giving him the problems). He already said that it wasn't WUXGA.

He asked if it could be fixed via a driver, obviously it can't.
