It seems when I connect my HDMI (HDMI to DVI out cable) to my external screen the computer recognizes it fine and acts just like if it works 100% but for some reason a signal is not received by the screen?

    Anyone have an idea?

Reduce your laptop screen resolution and try connecting it. The best was is to reduce it to the resolution of the external display. If using windows display properties does not fix it then try with the Nvidia Control panel. Its more of a trial and error fix for me. It works for sure somehow.

Press Fn + F4 until you have the desired display method (computer only/tv only/ both monitors)

Did my solution fix it for you?
