and I have now developed a problem!

You see, I seem to have this problem when shutting down the computer...

It doesn't seem to want to shut off, and I'm forced to hit the power button.

Also, (sometimes programs stop responding...and are stucked on the screen, and I'm forced to use an alt-ctrl-delete.)

Any help, or comments would be appreciated.

Also, this seem to occur right after I did a 'system restore', because... something goofy was going on in my computer -- like the hard drive spinning out of control. Lol, which seems to be fine now. haha...

oh well, I'm going to try shutting down now. (I gave my computer a full-night's rest...hopefully something that simple will remedy something that I hope to be simple!)

    Thanks in advance.

now it seems that I found something very interesting! and this may help you helping helpers.

you see, when it is shutting down...I notice that the icons on my task bar on the lower right, next to the clock...are one by one shutting down (about a 1 minute per each one).

And I thought, aww, poor lappy, let me give you a hand there... and I closed those icons down for it, and voila! it went to the next screen...which also took awhile for it to shutdown as well, and there were no icons to be closed there. So, I had to let the computer work it out on it's own...

So, it's like taking forever to close things down.

That's my theory. I'm somewhat computer illiterate.

ANd I really don't want to do another system restore.. "AGAIN"

You might want to go into msconfig and shut off any unnecessary programs that turn on when Windows boots.
