I'm using the 6860 and my hard drive seems to run really hot. It has once got up to 60C and just a moment ago got up to 59C. Keep in mind though, that this is while gaming but I was only playing CoD4 for about 1.5 hours and it get's up to 59C? I also had a torrent running in the background...that may have added to it? But frequently while gaming it gets up to 55-57C. Is something wrong with my HDD or is this common?

Note: no laptop cooler, propped up back, sitting on table.

    Thanks

Its unlikely that the torrent was the culprit.. :p

Windows Vista (I do actually have Ubuntu too but this isn't really a problem in it) the HDD is the WDC WD3200BEVT (Western Digital). I didn't think it was the torrent either but I don't normally download while gaming so I thought I'd mention it.

I have the WD3200BEVT too, and my temps are within the range of 40-45*C.

    Run this diagnostic tool.

Try disabling Indexing (WSearch) and Superfetch.
    Monitor temps using HWMonitor.
Download NHC, and lower the AAM value of the HDD to 128 (if higher)
Also assign a fixed page-file size, as much as the size of your physical RAM.

Those are normal temperatures. My HP reaches 65 max when under max load.

60*C is too close to the max operationg temp of the WD3200BEVT.
