I have been looking for a laptop on and off for about 2 months. Today I stumbled upon http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668374.php and was ready to buy instantly, as it is everything I wanted (15.6, i5, 4gb ram, dedicated video card, less than $900), but I am having a hard time finding a place to buy it...

I found the brown version of this laptop, but my OCD has kicked in and I really want the black one... using date refined Google searches, I see Tiger Direct and J&R Music and Computer had them on sale mid to late February, but I cannot find any where to buy now.

Time wise, I can wait about another month, so if this product will be available in that time frame, I don't mind waiting. But, if it's not coming back, I will cry and then move on, lol.

I bought the coffee brown one 2 days ago from Circuit city.com. Although the only difference btween the 25 & 26u is the color, these seem to be the newest models. If you have to have black, it should available at any time. everything comes in black these days.. I thought the coffee brown looked very slick.. so i decided to snag it. I've never considered a Gateway computer before but the value for dollar is excellent. I used a friend's Gateway at a party the other night and it wasn't bad at all. The only thing i'm a little concerned about is the super flat keyboard. I should have it tommorrow.

If you are still reading these forums... how do you like the laptop?

I'm still trying to get the black one, no luck yet.

I know u've been looking or the 5926, but the Acer Aspire AS5740G-6979 has the exact same specs. And since technically Acer owns gateway, pretty much same company.

I found it at J&R for $749, which is a pretty good deal considering I've normally seen them for $800.

Again, same specs, same size, pretty much should have same everything. Plus using bing cashback would bring it down cheaper.

Edit: Darn, when i posted they had it in stock, now its out of stock, sorry :\.
