Hi guys, i bought a ML6720 for my sister in law as a gift.My problem is that it takes about 5 minutes to boot up and then once she enters her password it takes about 10 minutes to set up her profile and it seems to be forever downloading updates. Any ideas? She's beginning to think its the notebook from hell.

p.s. This is the second one I had to return the first to bestbuy after it wouldnt reboot after updating.

I just bought the ML6721 and after getting rid of the extras that I don't need and getting a faster connection (thanks to the people here) I love it. I have had it for about 6 weeks and no more problems.

I had the same issue with the 6723 I just bought (then returned). The thing was as slow as molasses. everything took 3-4 times longer than on my pc....booting up, opening programs, updating, shutting down, etc.... S>>>L>>>>O>>>>WWWWWWWWWW.

hmm if its that slow for you do upgrade to 2gb of RAM, 1gb is surely not enough

also take out all the bloatware in the brand new laptop like napster, google desktop and turn off any start up that sounds like bloatware or useless. like big fix and spare back up.

OR you could just reformat and reinstall and your good to go
seriously get 2gb of RAM it does wonders.

I already reformatted and it worked well until I started updating vista.
