So I've got an issue, I broke one of those post things that the HSF screws into. It seems to have been over torqued and overcame the solder/epoxy that holds the post to the motherboard. Can anyone offer some suggestions? The best one I could think of on my own is buying some high temp epoxy and delicately apply some to the mating surface. It won't be as strong as before but certainly better than no attachment at all. I included some pictures for reference.

I think some non-conductive hi-temp apoxy would work.. just make sure you let it fully bond. Also, you shouldn't have to use a lot of torque to tighten the HSF assembly down. Just make sure you're a bit more careful this time.

any thoughts on a specific brand? I was thinking of going to the local auto parts store and getting some higher temp JB Weld and then let it cure for a day or so

Hello, Did the glue work for you? I have the same problem on my gateway FX motherboard. I know it has to be a way to fix it besides replacing the whole motherboard...

a hi temp apoxy would be better then jb weld because jb weld is highly conductive.
also i couldnt really tell what happened there as the pictures are extremely blurry. you should also get yourself a nice camera too -
iPhone camera isn't the best thing for this sort of application but for 95% of the other things I do it gets the job done.
