my friend just sold me a gateway mt6705, it comes with vista (which i dont like) but it has a virus that says "windows has stopped working." im not worried about the virus, i want to wipe the computer out, and install the copy of xp pro that i have and start all over with XP pro of course. now i go into the boot sequence and set it as "Boot From CD-ROM" so i can format the drive and install xp. but when i attempt to, a menu comes up that says cannot complete setup because no hard drive was detected, please check and see if its connected and yadda yadda yadda. now is it different to format a disk drive on a laptop then a desktop? if anyone has any help, i need it, thanks in advance!
