    Hello,

At Best Buy, I am looking at the Gateway FX Desktop & Laptop.

I was told that both would play my games.

    1. Which one is the better choice?
    2. Should I buy the extended warrenty?
    3. Any other info to help me decide.

    Thanks

    Frank

    1. That would depend on your usage...would you need portability or not.
    2. Most credit cards offer an additional year of warranty.
    3. You might get a better price online. Fill out the FAQ for more suggestions.

    Hope this helps!

    1. Would be nice, not necessary.
    2. Will pay by Check only.
    3. Have a credit at Best Buy

    Thanks

do the gateway FX desktops have the i7s in them with the X58 chipsets?

Hands down go with that if you do not need the portability.

The desktop will perform better, of course.
But you're paying a bit more, losing portability, and have to buy a monitor and keyboard if you don't have them already. (Assuming you have/are buying a mouse anyway since obviously you'll be gaming).

If you do not need a laptop then get a desktop. You get more for the money in a desktop. Also with a desktop top when something goes bad you can probably replace it. Laptops when they go back are just replaced due to the high cost of spare parts, if they can be found.

Yes, they they have the i7's.

I purchased the desktop yesterday and will see.
Still wishing for the FX Laptop through. :)

I used to own an iMac and decided to sell it for this.
    I must be crazy.

I figured that the cost of one 17" Macbook Pro, I could get both the desktop and laptop FX.

Is it a good idea to buy the extended warranty at Best Buy?
